The National Governing Body for Snooker and Billiards in Ireland are proud to announce that their brand new premises the ‘Snooker & Billiards Ireland Head Quarters and National Academy’ is nearing completion in Carlow as the new state of the art facility will give Irish Snooker and Billiards it first very own premises with four Star and four Shender snooker tables, Coaching Zone, Board Room, Changing Room, Shop and players Chill out Zone.
Work on the project has been ongoing for over a year now and with parking and top class playing conditions the hope is to further develop the games and look towards further World and European success on the green baize.
Players like Aaron Hill and Michael Judge have now joined the likes of former World Professional snooker Champion Ken Doherty and Fergal O’Brien on the main World Snooker Tour.
Chairman of Snooker and Billiards Ireland Dylan Rees said “We are really excited to be so close to opening the doors in Carlow at a time when indoor sports are coming back from a tough period. We want to develop our young players, support our Ladies snooker and look to be part of Disability Snooker as well as support our elite players to bring back even more International success back to Ireland. Players like Mark Tuite and Frank Sarsfield are European Champions this year, Mark has previously won an individual European tile and a further team title. Aaron Hill a past European U18 Champion on two occasions and a European U21 Champion. Michael Judge now a pro-tour player for the second time and a previous European Champion Josh Boileau shows the calibre of the players that represent our Country and with the new Academy the strength of our games will only increase further, these are very exciting times for Irish Snooker and Billiards’.

Snooker and Billiards Ireland will endeavour to progress the game and with the support of Sport Ireland will further develop Irish Snooker and Billiards to a whole new level.
