Following the Government announcement to impose level 5 restrictions across the country. Snooker & Billiards Ireland have decided to cancel all SBI events for the remainder of 2020. The Republic of Ireland Billiards and Snooker Association “RIBSA” have re-branded the association as for over five decades the sport of Billiards & Snooker has operated under the auspices of The Republic of Ireland Billiards and Snooker Association. However this will cease and from now and be known as “Snooker & Billiards Ireland” (SBI)
Snooker & Billiards Ireland would like to inform the pricing structure for entry fees into our events for the coming 2020-2021 Season. In consultation with club owners Snooker & Billiards Ireland have decided to increase the payment to clubs hosting our official tournaments. Currently clubs receive €2 per player and that will increase to €4 pp.
Snooker & Billiards Ireland would like to announce that in compliance with the Level 5 COVID-19 Restrictions for the entire country announced by the Government. We have decided to cancel all SBI events scheduled for the remaining 2020 Season. If any player who has entered an event, would like to receive a refund email info@sbireland.ie.
Snooker & Billiards Ireland have announced that all events on their provisional calendar of events on our Web Site have been cancelled in compliance with the COVID-19 Government Restrictions. Snooker & Billiards Ireland hope they can hold Snooker and Billiards events as early as possible in 2021 when it is safe too and that restrictions ease across the country.
SBI are delighted to announce they have set-up a “Player Grant Scheme” to assist our members who qualify for the World Snooker Tour. This grant will be paid to players who receive their tour cards for the first time only. Aaron Hill will be the first recipient of this grant and SBI would like to congratulate him and wish him well in his professional career.
