Welcome to Snooker & Billiards Ireland. We are delighted to announce our new web site covering all the news from on and off the table. This web site will be updated daily with events and news from the clubs, regions and plus all our National and International events worldwide. Snooker & Billiards Ireland are the official governing body for Snooker & Billiards in the Republic of Ireland. We hold national events in various levels in both genders with Senior, Intermediate, Over 50’s, Challenge, Ladies, Junior, Masters Over 40’s and Billiards events. Following the Irish Government announcement to impose level 5 restrictions across the country. Snooker & Billiards Ireland have decided to cancel all SBI events. SBI will monitor the ever-changing situation and keep our members informed of any changes to advice. Keep safe. Dylan Rees Chairman.

The Republic of Ireland Billiards and Snooker Association “RIBSA” have re-branded the association as for over five decades of Billiards & Snooker we operated under the auspices of The Republic of Ireland Billiards and Snooker Association. However from now we be known as “Snooker & Billiards Ireland” (SBI)

Snooker & Billiards Ireland would like to inform the pricing structure for entry fees into our events. In consultation with club owners, Snooker & Billiards Ireland have decided to increase the payment to clubs hosting our official tournaments. Currently clubs receive €2 per player and that will increase to €4 pp.

Snooker & Billiards Ireland would like to announce that in compliance with the Level 5 COVID-19 Restrictions for the entire country announced by the Government. We have decided to cancel all SBI events scheduled. If any player who has entered an event, would like to receive a refund email info@sbireland.ie.

The proposed new HQ has dominated the attention of the SBI board over recent times. Sites in Dublin, Kilkenny, Laois, Carlow, Waterford were viewed but the final decision was decided on the Carlow site. This premises used to be a car sales showroom and we are currently awaiting planning approval of change of use.

SBI are delighted to announce they have set-up a “Player Grant Scheme” to assist our members who qualify for the World Snooker Tour. This grant will be paid to players who receive their tour cards for the first time only. Aaron Hill will be the first recipient of this grant.


Snooker & Billiards Ireland have introduced a new on line payment system for Entering Events, Paying your Player, Referee or Club membership.
