PJ Coaching Tour around Austria

Last week our National Coach PJ Nolan travelled to three different cities in Austria to hold Snooker & Billiards Coaching Zones. First he was in Vienna to train the Austrian National Billiards team for the upcoming four Nations Billiards Championship in the newly opened Austrian Academy.

The Austrian Association organised the two day billiards camp to improve their national teams, technique, potting skills and training program. It was the second time PJ trained the National Billiards team and during this camp he focused mainly on various Billiards training drills to improve their ball control and get them scoring more at the top of the table.

The Austrian team played excellent and achieved their best ever result during the four Nations Billiards Championship. The players were first to admit that PJ’s Training and Coaching helped them to achieve this result.

Next it was the city of Wels in the centre of Austria to hold a training camp in the newly opened Paul Scholf Training Centre. During this camp he was preparing Austrian International player and club owner Paul Scholpf for the IBSF World Snooker Championship which is being played in Latvia at the end of the month. He also trained a number of his members in what is one of the most beautiful training venues.

His last city was in the city of Salzburg to train players on from the National Snooker Rankings. Some of the players are on the current National Team and others are on the verge of making the team in the future. PJ worked on the players Stance, Address Position, Grip and developing a smooth delivery in their Cue Actions.

They also practiced some of PJ’s key practice routines to improve their Cue Ball Control, Scoring and on their safety game with mini matches. Throughout all the camps the players received a DVD of their coaching along with a coaching profile on their game highlighting the main areas needed to improve plus his sports psychology audio CD to work on their mind fitness.

PJ said ” It was a pleasure training players from all around Austria and it was good to see so much of the countryside along my journey. I really enjoyed training all the players as their commitment was superb throughout each camp ”

PJ would also like to thank Christian Fock for arranging his schedule and local coaches Guenther Echhart and Chau Zi Kim for their assistance during the camp in growing the game in Austria. Finally PJ would like to thank the Austrian Association for inviting him to train the players and he is looking forward to holding another camp to check on the players improvement in the near future.
