Shane Bates from the 147Club in Wexford won the third RIBSA Under 21 Snooker Ranking event of the season in Northwest Snooker Club in Letterkenny County Donegal on Sunday the 14th of December.
In the final the Wexfordman beat Stephen Bateman from Kilkenny 3 frames to 1 in a superb quality final.Our National Coach PJ Nolan was the Tournament Director for the event and his was delighted with the quality on show. The Highest break was 56 by Stephen Bateman.
The Semi Finals saw Shane beating Ronan Whyte from the Northwest who had won the U-16 event the day earlier but Bates got on top to win three frames to one and in the other Stephen beat Aaron Moyles 3 frames to 2 on a re-spotted black.
The top of the rankings now have Aaron Moyles at No.1, Shane Bates at No.2, and Stephen Bateman at No.3 and Daragh Cusack at No.4.
