Snooker & Billiards Ireland are delighted to announce the appointment of Cathal Moore from Rathkeale as the new SBI Ladies Coach for Snooker & Billiards Ireland.
Snooker & Billiards Ireland Chairman Tommy O Donoghue is delighted to welcome Cathal on board and SBI are fully behind developing the ladies game all over Ireland.
SBI are hosting the World Snooker Ladies Open in our Academy from the 27th – 30th November which will feature the World’s best lady players.
Cathal is eager to grow the ladies’ game all around Ireland and the message bellow outlines his plans. Any Coach / Club can reach out to him for more details.
Message from the SBI Ladies National Coach
My name is Cathal Moore, a Level 1 snooker coach, and I’m delighted to introduce myself as the newly appointed National Ladies Snooker Coach with Snooker & Billiards Ireland.
As you know, ladies snooker in Ireland is still at a development stage, and my goal over the coming year is to grow participation from the grassroots up—creating opportunities for more women and girls to get involved, enjoy the game, and progress to competitive levels.
To help lay these foundations, I would like to organise a 1-day ladies open snooker day aimed at encouraging new players to come and try the game in a welcoming, supportive environment. This will be an important first step in showing potential players that there is a place for them within SBI and that we are committed to their development.
I am reaching out to you, as fellow SBI coaches, to ask for your support. If each coach could encourage 2–3 ladies or girls from your local club or community to attend, we would have a strong starting group to build from. With your help, this event could spark real momentum for the ladies’ game across the country.
I am currently looking at hosting these events in three regions and still working on the details. I’ll follow up soon once the venues and dates are confirmed.
