Hill wins RIBSA U-18 Ranking Event 1

Aaron Hill from the Crucible SC in Cork won the first RIBSA under 18 Snooker Ranking event of the season in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club, Carlow on Saturday the 8th of September.

In the final Aaron beat Ross Bulman from Youghal CYMS in a superb final 3 frames to nil to go top of the U-18 rankings that qualifies players for the 2019 European U-18 Championships in Israel early next year.

In the semi-finals Ross beat Leone Crowley 3 frames to nil while Aaron Hill beat Patrick Daly 3 frames to nil in the other semi-final.

  • High Break

The highest break in the event was a superb 129 Break by Ross Bulman and there was another century with Aaron Hill making a 111 Break.

  • Full Qualification System for EBSA U-18 Championships 

The Republic of Ireland Billiards & Snooker Association have announced qualification for the 2019 EBSA European Under 18 which will be held in Israel in 2019.

RIBSA will hold three International EBSA Ranking tournaments.  These events are open to all the underage players and if any player loses their first match on the day they can play in a plate event on the same day.

  • Format

The EBSA International events will be the best of 5 frames including the final and the Plate event will be the best of 3 frames including the final.

  • Entry Details

You must text your entry to RIBSA on 085 2428701. This is a text number only and you must include your name, club and name of the event you wish to enter

  • Closing Dates

The closing date for entries will be the Friday before each event @1pm and the draw will be then published on the ribsa web site at 3pm.

  • Entry Fee

The entry fee will be €10.00 plus Reg. This can be paid on the day. Trophies will be awarded to the plate winner and runner up of the three events and a prize fund will be awarded for the International events.

  • Tournament Director

This structure will be organised by our National Coach PJ Nolan who will be the Tournament Director.  This Qualification will run from September to December to qualify players for the EBSA Championships in Israel in early 2019.

  • All juniors can qualify

All juniors have an extra chance to qualify for the EBSA events through the Senior Rankings as RIBSA will give the highest ranked junior on the senior ranking a qualifying spot at the closing date.

This is to encourage more juniors to compete in our senior events.
