Ireland’s Brendan O Donoghue will fly the Irish flag in the 2025 IBSF World Snooker Championships here in Doha Qatar from the 9th to the 13th November. Brendan who won the Nenagh International Open last week has qualified for stage 2 after reaching last 16 last year.
He travelled to Qatar with our National Coach PJ Nolan to the event alongside IBSF Vice President Jim Leacy. Brendan will play Sebastian Milewski from Poland, Hussain Khan from India and Alijalil Ali from Iraq.

Main Event (48 Players) will participate, according to the following criteria: 32 Players pre-qualified as per the attached list. 16 players from qualifying tournaments
- Brendan O Donoghue has qualified for stage 2 after reaching the last 16 in 2024.

Minimum Prize for the Championships:
Men Snooker USD 25,000
– Winner: USD 10,000
– Runner-Up: USD 5,000
– Semi-Finalists: USD 2,500 (each)
– Quarter Finalists: USD 1,000 (each)
– Highest Break: USD 1,000 (above 100)

IBSF Men Snooker Championship is played in two stages format: 1. Stage – 1 – Qualifying Round (64 Players) All the players except for those who fall within the criterion set for the main event, by the IBSF Technical Committee, are required to qualify for the main event, through the qualifying events.

- The qualifying events will be played on knock out basis.
- Each event will be completed in two days.
- Each qualifying event will conclude on Last-8 stage.
- All the matches will be played on Best of 7 frames.
