The 5th annual Vinny Sheridan 6 Reds Snooker Tournament took place on Sunday Nov, 2 in St Conleth’s CYMS Newbridge. 25 players went to post with last years winner Martin Thorpe, Charlie Sweeney and Joe corrigan among the favourites. Joe reached the final accounting for Martin at the quarter-final stage, Joe winning by 3 frames to 1 and beating Charlie 3 – 2 in their semi- final. On the other side of the draw Tony Thorpe overcame Jim Carrick in a very close quarter-final 3 frames to 2 and beat clubmate Diarmuid Brennan in the semi 3 frames to 1.
The final was a competitive affair with Tony winning by 4 frames to 2 using his many years of experience to keep Joe from dominating the exchanges.
Tournament Director Jim Carrick thanked Agnes Sheridan and her family for their help in running the event and looked forward to many more successful tournaments. He thanked St Conleth’s CYMS for organising the event and said he was delighted with the club and the high standard of the tables.
