On Saturday the 20th of January, Snooker & Billiards Ireland held their first of two planned International Snooker Training Camps with our National Coach PJ Nolan. The camp was held in the SBI HQ in Carlow to prepare our players for the 2024 European Snooker Championships which will be held in Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina)
The players practiced on the Star & Rasson Match Tables from 11am-4pm on the day and the next planned camp will be held on the 17th of February.
Quality Camp
Our National Coach PJ Nolan held sessions on Break-Building, Safety, Long Potting and Technique checks. All the players will received a training program booklet with practice drills plus a sports phycology booklet to help them work on their mind fitness.
Players from the Under 16, Under 18, U-21 and Mens event attended this training camp and our National Coach was very happy with their performances on the day. Joe Shannon, Adam Halnon, Aaron Doherty, Max Kennedy,Lorcán Ó Curraoin and James Fennessy trained hard all day with quality scoring, potting and tactical snooker.

The latest training aids were used in the camp to enhance the sessions like the Mini Domin Eye, Master Doctor, Str8aim SA-1 & SA-2, Chris Henry Balls, Academy laser, EBSA Coaching Balls to help to get them on the line of aim and develop a smoother stroke in their delivery.
SBI would like to wish the SBI players and Officials good luck in this Championships in Bosnia and Herzegovina and remember the next camp will be held on the 17th of February.
