Snooker & Billiards Ireland held an International Camp for our players who are playing in the 2026 EBSA European Championships in Spain on Saturday 7th February in the SBI Academy in Carlow.
SBI Camps are held each year to allow our players train in a camp with our National Coach PJ Nolan who is also a WPBSA Coach and Head of Coaching in the European Billiards & Snooker Association.

Training Camps
Our SBI National Coach held sessions on Break-Building, Safety, Long Potting and Technique checks. All the players will receive a training program booklet with practice drills plus a sports phycology booklet to help them work on their mind fitness.

Philip Browne won the Break Building drills event with a great display of break building and Scoring. Jamie McCarthy won the long potting challenge and Jack O Brien won the Match-Play Challenge.

Training Aids
The latest training aids were used in the camps to enhance the sessions like the Mini Domin Eye, Master Doctor, Str8aim SA-1 & SA-2, Chris Henry Balls, Academy laser, EBSA Coaching Balls to help to get them on the line of aim and develop a smoother stroke in their delivery.
The players practiced on the Star & Rasson Match Tables and watched videos on improving their mind set to play their best snooker. All the players and parents enjoyed the camp and thanked SBI for holding the camp.

The players were fitted for their SBI waistcoat plus Polos and Hoodies with Clancy Homes sponsoring clothing for our Juniors players travelling to Spain.
The 2026 European Snooker Championship and U16, U18, U21 Snooker Championships that will be held at the Gandia Palace Hotel, from the 1st to the 14th of March 2026 in the city of Gandia/Spain.
