Snooker & Billiards Ireland held a very successful SBI Snooker Summer Camp for our members in the SBI HQ in Carlow on Tuesday 20th, Wednesday 21st, and Thursday 22nd of June.
The Summer Camps are held each year to allow members to train in a camp with our National Coach PJ Nolan who is also a WPBSA Coach and Head of Coaching in the European Billiards & Snooker Association.
SBI Chairman
Dylan Rees SBI Chairman attended Day 1 of the summer camp ‘’ said that the camps are a vital part in our development of the sport. We are delighted to have PJ holding the summer camp to help guide our players to improve their games from our National Coach’’
The Players
PJ worked with talented players from Dublin, Wexford, Carlow, Waterford, Kilkenny, Dungarvan, Kerry and Galway on developing good fundamentals in their Approach, Cue Action, Stance and Bridge Hand and practicing Safety, Cue Ball Control and Break Building Drills on the Star or Rasson or the Mini Star Snooker tables during this summer camp.
Format
The players could have picked one day or all 3 days and this Camp was only open to SBI members. The price was €15.00 per player per day for training from 11am – 4pm.
Latest Training Aids
During the summer camp this year, players used the latest coaching and training aids on the market to enhance their sessions like the like the Master Doctor, Str8aim G-5 & SA-2, Chris Henry Balls, Academy laser, EBSA Coaching Balls which help to get the players on the line of aim and develop a smoother stroke in their delivery.
Coaching
Each student receives Group Coaching, Coaching Technique Profile and SBI Training Booklet and a SBI Medal for attending the Summer Camp.
Thank You
During the camp various mini tournaments will be held to give the players vital match practice in frames and in the drills. SBI would like to thank all the players for attending and we hope you enjoyed the camps. We hope to see you playing in our tournaments next season.
