Snooker & Billiards Ireland held a fantastic Finals weekend in the SBI Academy of Excellence in Carlow over the weekend of 17th – 18th of May. 13 SBI National Champions were crowned this year in all age levels and categories in Snooker & Billiards.
Many won their first ever National title and some retained their title but it was Davy Morris from the Kilkenny Shed who won the blue ribbon event when he claimed his fifth Irish Amateur Snooker Championship and lifted the Ger Murray Memorial Cup when he beat the seven-time champion, Brendan O’Donoghue from the New Institute in Nenagh in the final.
The Amateur Championships Highest Break was tied with Davy Morris and Ross Bulman from Youghal CYMS both making 133 breaks.
Big thank you to all the referees who were in charge all weekend. Every final was Streamed and refereed by our team of qualified SBI referees. The standard was excellent in all the events. We also had Live Scoring on all tables in the HQ over the weekend.
