Snooker & Billiards Ireland (SBI) have just announced they will hold another free National Snooker & Billiards Junior Developmental Day on Saturday the 20th of July in the SBI HQ Academy of Excellence in Carlow from 11am to 4pm with PJ Nolan our National Coach and his fellow SBI Qualified coaches.
Tables
SBI will use all 8 full size snooker tables for the more experienced players on the day plus our mini star tables in the Academy will help introduce new younger people to the game and help develop the game going forward.
During the year SBI hold a number of Junior Developmental days to introduce and encourage more juniors to play our beautiful sports and payers from all across Ireland attended and this upcoming day promises to be another great day in our new SBI Academy.
A Sport for Everyone
If any club or member knows of any young players who would like to attend, SBI invite them to attend this free day with our Irish National Coach PJ Nolan and his team of SBI Coaches to have some fun and learn some of the skills of the game.
Calling All SBI Coaches
All current SBI Qualified Coaches who are Garda vetted are also invited to attend the day and the schedule of events is from 10.45am – 11am the players will sign in and warm up. The players will then learn about the Stance, Grip, Cue Action, Cue Ball Control and Basic Potting Skills. The game of Billiards will also be introduced to the players.
Planned Schedule
The day will begin with the players playing some basic shots with PJ and the SBI coaches will give some tips and advice to the players. The players will then be shown how to control the cue ball and then try some practice routines.
Potting, Safety and Re-spotted black tournaments will also be held. The action will begin at 11am and finish at 4pm. A SBI Qualified Referee will be on hand to explain some of the Snooker and Billiards Rules to everyone also.

SBI would like to ask our members and all the clubs to encourage as many of their young children/ friends/ members to attend this promotion day and help grow the game in Ireland.
