Frank Sarsfield from St John’s in Limerick won the 2025 Snooker & Billiards Ireland Snooker Shoot Out in the SBI Academy of Excellence in Carlow on Saturday the 4th of January 2025. In the final which was refereed by International Referee Steven Foster, Frank beat John Paul Kelly from Norriss SC in Waterford in a great match.
After a long days play the four semi-finalists were Frank Sarsfield, John Paul Kelly, Adam Halnon from Maynooth SC, Dylan Rees from Dungarvan SC and both matches were excellent with Frank and John Paul just on top.
The event featured many of our top Amateur, Master, Intermediate, Challenge and Junior players in this 10min Shoot Out.

There were a number of fantastic matches in this fast format including our National Coach PJ Nolan beating Dylan Rees in the opening match. There were also great wins for many of our young players which bodes well for their development.
All matches were one frame, with a time limit of 10 minutes per match. A beep started the matches in the venue, and a 3,2,1 horn ended all matches. All fouls were Cue Ball in hand.
The event was played with four Seperate draws to qualify the 16 players for the knock out stages. The action started out at 10am and the final finished up at 5pm.
Adam Halnon, Killian O Sullivan, Mark Gleeson, Killian O’Sullivan, John Ahearne, Frank Sarsfield, Paul Keighery, Chris Dunleavy, John Paul Kelly, Colvin O Brien, Alan O Connor, Shane Sexton, Richard Flynn, Clayton Cregan, Tommy O Donoghue and Dylan Rees were the 16 qualifiers from the 4 events on the day to find the 2025 Champion.

The Guaranteed prize fund was €1000 on offer with the Winner receiving €500.00, Runner Up €250.00 and beaten Semi Finalists €125.00 each.
