Ronan McGuirk from R&R SC followed on from his previous success, in winning Event No.5 in the SBI National Under 18’s tournament that was played on Sat 24th March in the SBI snooker Academy in Co. Laois.
In the final, Ronan beat Jamie McCarthy 3-2 in a high quality match. In the pre-lim matches Max Kennedy beat David Farrelly 3-1 and Aaron Donnelly beat Jamie O Connor 3-0. Joe Shannon and Jamie McCarthy both received byes in their quarter -final matches and faced each other in the 1st semi.
Ben du Bois and Ronan McGuirk beat Aaron Donelly and Max Kennedy respectably in their Quarter-final matches, so they faced each other in the remaining 2nd semi-final match.
Ronan won 3-0 against Ben and Jamie beat Joe in a closely contested match 3-2. SBI would like to thank all parents who attended the day’s proceedings and thanks also to TD Shane Gorman for his contribution in the running of the Event.
