On Saturday the 11th of July our National Coach PJ Nolan held his first day of a planned two day RIBSA training snooker camp for the players who will represent the Republic Of Ireland in the upcoming IBSF World Under 21 Championship and the Home International Men’s, Masters, U-21 and 16 Snooker Teams.
The Training Camp was held in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club in Carlow from 11am – 4pm and PJ put the players through their paces. PJ worked on their techniques and he gave the players training routines to prepare properly for the upcoming Championships. Each player received a DVD of his action during the lesson and sports psychology audio to help with their mind fitness.
Tom O Driscoll, Josh Boileau, Aaron Moyles, Shane Bates, Jason O Hagan, Andrew Doherty and Keith O Reilly attended today. RIBSA organised the two day camp with PJ to help our RIBSA players prepare for the Championships.
The players trained on the Shender Match Tables. PJ also worked with them on the psychology of the game in order to play with more confidence and on Sunday the 12th of July the players will have the opportunity to get coaching from a professional Mind Coach Paddy Maher as this is key for the players to improve their mind fitness to play their best game.
World IBSF U-21 Championship
Next week RIBSA will be sending five players to the World IBSF U-21 Championships in Romania when Josh Boileau, Shane Bates, Aaron Moyles, Stephen Bateman and Adam Fiyzgerald will be in action and RIBSA wish them all the best of luck in the event. Neil Shanahan will be the RIBSA Referee and PJ Nolan will the team coach and manager.

The cost of holding a RIBSA session is €20.00 per hour coaching time plus €20.00 per hour travel time from Carlow plus tolls and parking. If you would like to travel to the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club in Carlow you can avail of a 2hr session for €65.00 which includes Lights, DVD of the lesson and Technique profile.
