On Monday 17th of February RIBSA held the first day of a four day Snooker Training Camp to prepare our players for the 2014 EBSA Team and Under 21 Championship Snooker Championships with our National Coach PJ Nolan.
Today Irish Under 21 Number 1 and Number 2 players Josh Boileau and Daniel Dempsey attend training in the Ivy Rooms in Carlow. Both players were videoed and received DVD’s of their game to study at home as PJ feels this is crucial in developing players to improve their game.
PJ put both players through their paces working on their techniques and on training routines to prepare for the Championships which is being held from the 18th to the 29th of March in Romania .
RIBSA Chairman Jim Leacy came in to watch the training day and to wish the players good luck and said that he was delighted to see RIBSA holding this 4 day camp as this professionalism will help our players in Romania next month. from the 18th to the 29th of March
Senior Players : Robert Murphy, Michael Judge, Jason Devaney and Rodney Goggins
Masters Players : Mark Tuite, Anthony Bonnar, Tony Seamore, Tom O Driscoll, Stephen Walsh and Alen Matic
Under 21 Players : Josh Boileau, Daniel Dempsey, Ryan Cronin, David Cassidy and Stephen Bateman
The RIBSA players can train on the Shender Match Tables from 11am – 4pm in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club in Carlow for the cost of €5.00 per player, per day on the 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th of February with PJ who is one of the leading World Coaches
PJ worked with Josh and Daniel on developing a solid playing technique and he used his various academy training programs to improve the players cue ball control, long potting and match play. PJ also worked on the psychology of the game and each player received a DVD of his action during the lesson and sports psychology booklet and audio to help with their mind fitness.
