This week The Republic of Ireland Billiards & Snooker Association held a summer snooker coaching camp in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club in Carlow with our National Coach PJ Nolan.
A number of RIBSA stars of the future attended the camp including the current under 14 National Snooker Champion Fergal Quinn. All the players were put through their paces with a number of cue ball training exercises and the players to impress our National Coach were James Hurley, Jordan McCarty, Oisin Harte and Paddy Hanafin.
Each player set targets on each routine and they were recorded and received a DVD of their action from the camp to study more at home. The players received a sports psychology CD to help them relax and get them get into the winning zone for upcoming season. All the players were excellent and listened very hard and by the end of the camp improved their playing techniques and cue ball control.
RIBSA would like to thank all the players for attending the summer camp and wish them good luck next season. A big thank you also goes to the Ivy Rooms for the excellent playing conditions throughout the summer camp.
