On Wendesday the 7th of May our National Coach PJ Nolan was in action on day two of the RIBSA Snooker Training Camp to prepare our players for the 2014 IBSF World Under 21 Championship and for the 2014 EBSA Snooker Championships.
Today Master players, Tom O Driscoll and Mark Tuite were joined by Under 21 players Daniel Dempsey and Stephen Bateman in training in the Ivy Rooms in Carlow. The World U-21 Championships is being held from the 10th to the 18th of May in UAE and the EBSA Snooker Championship will be held in Bulgaria from the 1st – 11th June.
The players trained on the Shender Match Tables from 11am – 4pm and PJ used his various academy programs to improve the players cue ball control, long potting and match play. PJ also worked on the psychology of the game and each player received a sports psychology booklet and audio to help with their mind fitness.
IBSF President and RIBSA Chairman Jim Leacy was in to wish the players good in their up coming Championships. The players were videoed today and received DVD’s of their game to study at home.
Top juniors were also in Carlow when Charlie Sweeney was practicing for his up coming Under 16 and Under 19 National Final and he was joined by local player Corey Ramsbottom who was preparing for this weekends Under 12 & Under 14 National Championship.
