The Republic of Ireland Billiards & Snooker Association (RIBSA) held their second junior snooker development day of the season on Sunday the 29th of January in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club in Carlow.
All junior player from all around Ireland were invited to attend the day with our Irish National Coach PJ Nolan. PJ said he was delighted to see many talented players from Cork, Waterford, Navan, Newbridge, Carlow and Offaly attending which goes well for the future of our sport in Ireland.
PJ guided the players to learn the skills of the game and develop good fundamentals in their Cue Action, Cue Ball Control and Potting Skills from 11am to 4pm.
The day started off from 10.30am – 11am the players signed in. First the players played some snooker to warm up, next the players were then shown how to approach the shot and they practiced some key practice routines.
Two re-spotted black tournaments were held and they were won by Ronan McGurik from Navan and Adam Quinn from Edenderry.
RIBSA would like thank the Ivy Rooms for hosting the event and to all the players and parents for attending.
Details and venue of the third RIBSA development day will be announced very soon. The cost to each player was €5.00 and each player receive a coaching manuals and practice routine booklets.
