Snooker & Billiards Ireland are currently working on the new SBI calendar of events for the 2024-2025 season. It is going to be another exciting year on the baize.
We would like to keep our members up to date will exciting news on the open snooker tours plus brief update on the Seniors tour, Super Seniors and Juniors tour.
SBI announced that the three Open Snooker Tours will be now called:
- SBI Amateur Tour
- SBI Century Tour
- SBI Challenge Tour
Junior Development
€1 entry fee will be offered to any Under 21 Junior player to compete in any of the three open tours for the coming season. This is to encourage more juniors to attend adult events, gain experience, watch and play our leading players and be hopefully be motivated to improve more.
The Amateur Tour
- Open to all ages, genders and abilities
- Features the best players in the country
- Six ranking events are planned.
- This is followed with Irish Amateur Championship to find the 2025 champion
The entry fee for all Amateur Tour Tournaments is €35.00 for over 21yrs, €1 for under 21’s
Century Snooker Events: formally Intermediate
The Century Tour has set criteria of
- Open to only members outside the top 10 on the end of season amateur rankings in the past 2yrs.
- All former National Amateur Champions are excluded
- Any WPBSA member who was in the top 64 are excluded
- All Century tour events will be 2 day events – Depending on entries *
The entry fee for Century Tour Tournaments is €25 for over 21yrs, €1 for under 21’s These Tournaments will be the best of five frames.
Full Criteria to the Century Tour will be displayed on www.sbireland.ie once the calendar is published.
Challenge Tour
The Challenge Tour has set criteria of
- Open to all members who have never represented RIBSA / SBI in any International event over 16yrs in any category or gender
- All past Winners of the National Challenge Championships are excluded
- Any former National Champion in any level over 16yrs are excluded
- Any WPBSA member are excluded for the Challenge Tour
- All Challenge tour events are 2 day events – Depending on entries *
The entry fee for Challenge Tour Tournaments is €25 for over 21yrs, €1 for under 21’s These Tournaments will be the best of five frames.
Full Criteria to the Challenge Tour will be displayed on www.sbireland.ie once the calendar is published.
Seniors Tour (Over 40’s)
- The Seniors Tour is open to all members over 40yrs of age
- All events will be a one-day event played on a Sunday
- Five ranking events are planned.
- This is followed with Irish Seniors Championship to find the 2025 champion
Super Seniors Tour (Over 55’s)
- The Super Seniors Tour is open to all members over 55yrs of age
- All events will be a one-day event played on a Sunday
- Five ranking events are planned.
- This is followed with Irish Seniors Championship to find the 2025 champion
Junior Tour
This season will be holding ranking events in 14’s, 16’s, 18’s and 21’s plus we will hold National Championships in 12’s, 14’s, 16’s, 18’s and 21’s
The Entry Fees for all Junior events set at €10.00 each
The SBI Age limit will be the 31st December 2024 for all SBI junior events. All member must remember International criteria may vary for events. SBI will go down rankings to qualify players who meet that particular age deadline.
New Sponsor
PJ Nolan’s 147academy will be the title sponsor for all the Junior Tours and events will run from September 2024 – May 2025
- 14’s Stars Tour – 2 Events pre-Christmas and 2 following plus the Nat C-Ships
- 16’s Stars Tour – 2 Events pre-Christmas and 2 following plus the Nat C-Ships
- 18’s Future Tour – 2 Events pre-Christmas and 2 following plus the Nat C-Ships
- 21’s Stars Tour – 2 Events pre-Christmas and 2 following plus the Nat C-Ships = 20 events
Example:
- 14’s: a player who’s 14th birthday is on or before 31st December 2024 will not be able to enter the SBI 14’s events in the 2024 /25 season
- 16’s: a player who’s 16th birthday is on or before 31st December 2024 will not be able to enter the SBI 16’s events in the 2024 /25 season
- 18’s: a player who’s 18th birthday is on or before 31st December 2024 will not be able to enter the SBI 18’s events in the 2024 /25 season
- 21’s: a player who’s 21st birthday is on or before 31st December 2024 will not be able to enter the SBI 21’s events in the 2024 /25 season
All SBI Events
Full details on all tour plus the Billiards Events, Training Camps, Developmental Days, Coaching Courses, TD Training, Referee Training, Schools Development and International Camps and International events held in Ireland will be announced soon.
Memberships is Open – 1st July
All members will first need to renew their memberships on line via – https://crm.sbireland.ie/ as SBI memberships run from 1st July to 31st June each season. Remember you will only be allowed to enter an event if have logged in as a member using a valid username and password in the system.
Renew Membership
If you were a member in the last three years you simply press the renewal button CLICK HERE and use the same email and password you created when signing up to the system.
You simply choose your type of membership and click and pay.
Reset Passwords
You can always reset your own password and there is also a support for members by emailing info@sbireland.ie and SBI will follow up to resolve any issue.
New First Time Members
If you are registering for the first time, you will be asked to complete the SBI membership form with date of birth, address, club, high break, email and then create a username and password. Please ensure you tick GDPR Box.
SBI Yearly Membership fee
- Adult Over 21 – €30.00
- Junior Under 21’s – €20.00
- Coach Membership – €30.00
- Referee Membership – €32.00
All members have full voting rights at the AGM. A one day / event registration is available @ €10.00 but does not entitle voting rights at AGM.
Club Registration:
Four tables or more is €45.00 per year and one to three tables is €25.00 per year
Club Registration runs from January 1st to December 31st each year. Only Registered Clubs can hold a SBI event. Each Registered club is entitled to have a representative attend and vote at the AGM.
Please note if your club has any members under 18 you will need a child protection policy and appoint a Children’s officer with a valid certification.
