This weekend SBI hosted the Inter Provincial tournament between Leinster, Munster, Connacht and Dublin Leagues. There were 8 players per team which consisted of four men, three masters’ and an U21 player.
The competition was played over two days with each team playing twice on the Saturday and once on the Sunday to see who made the final.
All Matches were best of 3 except for the final which was best of 5. In the event of a tie there was to be a best of 5 black ball shootout which consisted of two men, two masters and the U21 player.
The first match of the tournament was Leinster vs DBSL which Leinster won 7-1. The second match was Munster vs Connacht which Munster won 6-2
Next match up was Leinster vs Munster which Leinster won 5-3. The final March of day one was Connacht vs DBSL which DBSL won 5-3
The first match on Sunday was Connacht vs Leinster which Leinster won 7-1. The final group game saw Munster take on DBSL which Munster won 8-0.
Format
The format for each team featured 1 Under 21 player, 4 Men players and 3 Masters players. The Dress Code is One Colour Polo Shirt, Black Trousers and dark Shoes.
All matches were the Best of 3 Frames – 1pt per victory. If teams tied in group stages and in the final – Black Ball Shoot out, comprising of 5 players with the following category 1 Junior, 2 Amateur, 2 Seniors players will decide match.

The high breaks of the tournament were 60 from Colin Walsh, Mark Tuite 96, James Darcy 98bjt it was Mark Walsh who had the tournament high break of 106.
SBI Chairman Jay Chopra presented the 2023 cup to the winning captain Frank Sarsfield and SBI hope all players had a brilliant weekend of top class snooker and we look forward to holding the 2024 series next season.
