Karl Fitzpatrick from the Ivy Rooms SC in Carlow got off to a great start to the season when he won the first Under 21 Ranking event in Limerick over the weekend.
In the final Karl beat Ryan Cronin from the Crucible SC 3 frames to 1 in an exciting final in the Victoria S.C. in Limerick City.
Semi Finals Karl beat David Cassidy 3 frames to 2 and Ryan beat Tony Moore 3 frames to 2 in the other semi final.
In the Last 16 Tony Moore caused the big upset in beating the current National Champion Jason Devaney 3 frames to 2.
The Highest break of the event was made by Daniel O Regan from Crucible SC with a 81 break.
The Plate event was won by Daniel Dempsey when he beat Brendan Murphy 2 frames to nil.
