On Saturday the 23rd of August, The Republic Of Ireland Billiards & Snooker Association held a Coaching Ireland Intro level course in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club. Philip Browne from Dublin, James Geraghty from Celbridge, Eric Morley from Mayo and Charlie Turbitt from Westmeath attended the course and they were guided in how to plan a training session, how to monitor players techniques plus how to design training routines.
Our National Coach PJ Nolan gave the seminar covering the approved syllabus approved by Coaching Ireland who govern all coaching in Ireland through the Irish Sports Council.
RIBSA have now have 75 coaches whom have attended a course and have official Intro level certification.
The four now go away to attend a 4hr basic awareness course in their local area and have Garda Vetting before being presented with their Coaching Certificate later this year.
Irish Internatioanl player Philip Browne who will be based in the Terry Rogers SC in Dublin said ” he picked up great tips to help him to start coaching more and The CD with all the course information will be a great resource to help us in the future ”
If you would like to attend the next course you must download the application form from the web site and post it to RIBSA. As soon as RIBSA have six completed forms we will apply to Coaching Ireland for approval and a date to hold the next course.
