Intermediate Rules following a subcommittee meeting in Carlow on Sunday 30th September.
This year the Intermediate series will be played in four regions. There will be 4 Intermediate ranking events played in each region with a National Championships at the end of the year.
As with the senior tournaments the Intermediate competitions will be organised in seeded groups, open draw, double elimination & seeded draw formats.
Entries to be phoned to host clubs not later than 1pm on the Friday before each event. Each regional event will be played on the same day around the country..
Entry for the Intermediate Series is €20 per event with a reduction to €10 for Juniors (Under-21’s).
Players must be registered before entering tournaments – Registration can be paid on morning of tournament
2012 – 2013 Membership fees are Senior €10.00 and Under 21 €5 and Under 16’s are free
If Groups format is played 3 frames will be played qualifying players for the knockouts rounds, with one point per frame won. With two players qualifying from the groups. All knock out matches will be best of 5 frames including the final.
Groups will be decided on 1. Matches Won, 2. Frames Won, 3. Head to head .
If two or more players are tied in the group a one frame play-off will decide the qualifiers.
The following players are excluded from the Intermediate series
- Any player inside top 20 on the senior rankings at the end of last season.
- former Irish senior champion / Former WPBSA players are ineligible for 10 years
