The European Week of Sport takes place between the 10-18 September and aims to promote sport and physical activity across Europe. The Week is for everyone, regardless of age, background or fitness level.
With a focus on grassroots initiatives, it will inspire Europeans to #BeActive on a regular basis and create opportunities in peoples’ everyday lives to exercise more. As an annual event, the European Week of Sport will inspire all kinds of creative and exciting events and activities in different countries.

Minister of State for Tourism and Sport Patrick O’Donovan T.D, recently launched Ireland’s participation in this year’s European Week of Sport.
Over three hundred sport and physical activity events will take place across Ireland from 10th – 18th of September which aims to promote sport and physical activity across Europe.
To support the European Week of Sport the Republic of Ireland Billiards & Snooker Association (RIBSA) have decided to offer free entry to all RIBSA tournaments for the period of September 10th – 18th.
This will include :
RIBSA Under 18 Ranking event 1 in Carlow on Saturday 10th.
RIBSA Under 14 Ranking event 1 in Newbridge on Sunday 11th.
RIBSA Under 21 Ranking event 1in Carlow on Sunday 11th.
RIBSA Intermediate Ranking event in Celbridge on the 17th.
RIBSA Senior Billiards Event 1 in Carlow on the 18th
