The EBSA European Under 21 Snooker Championships began today in the Jezero Hotel in Borsko here in Serbia with all of our young RIBSA stars in action.
First up was Jason Devaney and Andy McCloskey at 1pm local time ( Serbia Time + 1hr Ireland) Devaney played excellent to beat Maor Shalom from Israel 3 frames to one while the Nenagh man lost to Brian Cini from Malta 3 frames to nil.
At 3pm Josh Boileau from Newbridge won against Markus Pfistermuller from Austria 3 frames to nil while Andrew Doherty from Dublin beat Siarhel Meinichonak from Belarus 3 frames to 2.
At 5pm Ryan Cronin from Cork started his campaign against Niel Vincent from France win a 3 frames to nil victory, Jason Devaney lost his second match of the day when he was beaten by Jamie Clarke from Wales 3 frames to one but Andy McCloskey won his second match against Vergil Mavrodiev from Bulgaria 3 frames to one.
At 7pm Josh Boileau was back in action against Marvin Losi from Switzerland in his second match of the day and he won 3 frames to one.
National Coach PJ Nolan is confident the boys can perform good tomorrow after great play on Day 1 and some of the players clothes have yet to arrive but everyone is confident and ready for Day 2 of this championship.
