On Sunday the 31st of January our National Coach P.J. Nolan held his final training day to prepare our RIBSA players for the upcoming EBSA European Snooker Championships which are being held in Poland from the 7th to the 20th of February.
The players practiced in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club in Carlow from 11 am to 4 pm. Today the players worked on the tactical side of the game after the break building and long potting routines yesterday.
CLICK DAY 1 of Camp – Saturday 30th January
In attendance were Current Irish Champion Brendan O Donoghue and Ryan Cronin who will compete in the Mens European Championship plus Darragh Cusack and Fergal Quinn who will play in the Under 18 Championship. They were joined with Rodney Goggins and Stephen Bateman along with up and coming player Aaron Holland.
The Ex Professional and Irish Champions Brendan and Rodney played numerous games to give their valuable experience to all the players to help them in their preparation for the European Championship.
P.J. recorded each player and they all received a dvd containing sports audio to help with their mind fitness plus Break Building routines along with video recordings of their cue action and technique.
RIBSA Chairman Jim Leacy was on hand today to wish all the players the best of luck in Poland. All the players said they were all delighted with the training day and thanked RIBSA and the Ivy Rooms for hosting the training day.
