On Saturday the 19th April, SBI held their first National Disability Snooker Championships in the recently refurbished Newbridge CYMS. We had 18 players participating in 4 categories based around the WDBS system providing us with 4 National Champions.
In Group 3+4, we had 6 players playing out of two groups of 3. Alex Henerbrey topped 1st group and Daniel Kelly topped the 2nd.
A play-off was held for the two 2nd placed players and Patrick O Rourke beat Alan McDonagh to claim the prize of a watch. In the final Daniel prevailed in a tightly contested match to beat Alex 2-1.
In Group 6a & 6b, we had 5 players Oscar E Gibbons comfortably topped the group and Niall Pollitt came second after a playoff between Niall and Peter McDermott. In the final it was Oscar who beat Niall on the colours in the decider 2-1.
In Group 5+7 we had 3 players and it was Dylan Rees who topped the group with Colvin O Brien coming 2nd. In their final Dylan won it with a 3-0 score line.
In group 8 we had 4 players competing and it was Francis Coyle who topped the group and John O Sullivan taking 2nd spot. In the final John beat Fran 2-0.
