Irishmen Alan Cusack & Ger Delaney were beaten 3 frames to 1 by England today in the Semi Finals of the IBSF World Master Team Championships in the Ivy Rooms.
First in toady was Cusack but he was beaten by Anthony Harris in a close frame but Delaney fought back to beat Robert Marshall in a solid frame to level the game but the English side won the doubles and the next singles to deny the Irish a final frame shoot out.
This team done incredible as both were playing in their first International event and as National Coach I was so proud of them in the event. I hope this gives all players the confidence to qualify for future International events as Ger and Alan were superb ambassadors for their Country this week and competed against the best and reaching the Semi Finals was a incredible performance.
The finals are being played at 11.30am and 3.30pm and it promises to be an outstanding day of snooker tomorrow so if you are around Carlow you must come in to watch the finals.
