Snooker & Billiards Ireland attended Ireland’s Largest Transition Year Schools Event. The TY Show 2025 was held on Thursday the 18th of September at the Curragh Racecourse in Co Kildare.
National Coach PJ Nolan and SBI Coach Shane Gorman represented our association at this national event to promote our sport to all the students and teachers.
Schools from across Ireland attended this interactive and engaging day of discovery and opportunity where the students tried out different activities.
We had our small star tables installed, and our Coaches developed mini games for the students to try. The winners received a gold medal to remember the special day. PJ Nolan was delighted with the turn out and congratulated all the boys and girls who attended today.
For many it was there first time, playing snooker and the atmosphere was fantastic, and our stand was one of the most popular in the venue with 100% enjoyment had by the students and even a few teachers joined in.
Snooker & Billiards Ireland are fully focused on growing the game through our snooker in schools program. It is a great opportunity for us to help promote our sport and days like today was an excellent way to encourage more players to join clubs in their local area and start to play.
TY Curragh 2025 is Ireland’s largest event dedicated to Transition Year (TY), Leaving Certificate Applied (LCA), and Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme (LCVP) students, teachers, and parents.
