David Causier from England successfully defended his World Matchplay Billiards Championship title when he defeated Sourav Kothari from India 8-2 in the final of the 2024 World Matchplay Billiards Championship in the Snooker & Billiards Ireland Academy in Carlow.
The final was refereed by International Referee John Kehoe from Wexford. This World Matchplay was again sponsored by the Macau Casino. This prestigious level six WBL ranking event was the main event of a big double-header which also featured the Irish Open which was also won by David Causier.
