Adam Fitzgerald from Youghal CYMS won the second IBSF Under 21 RIBSA Snooker Ranking event in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club, Carlow on Saturday the 9th of April when he beat Andrew Doherty from Celbridge SC 3 frames to 0 in a superb final.
In the Semi finals Adam Fitzgerald from Youghal CYMS beat Number 1 seed Charlie Sweeney from Newbridge CYMS 3 frames to 1 while Andrew Doherty beat Fergal Quinn from Coalisland 3 frames to 2 in two excellent matches.
Adam will now receive a place at the World IBSF Under 21 Championship in Belgium and at the Home Internationals in Leeds in August 2016.
The high breaks in the event were Charlie Sweeney 80, 56, 46, 42. Adam Fitzgerald 43, 67 75. Darragh Cusack 60. Andrew Doherty 50 and 42.
PJ Nolan was the Tournament Director on the day and all matches were the best of 5 frames including the final. He said all the players were excellent and we now have so much talent coming through. The future is looking really good for Irish Snooker.

TRAINING DAY
Adam will now join his team mate Noel Landers from Youghal CYMS who won event 1 and the National Championship winner from later in the month for a training day at event 3 on the 14th of May with our National Coach PJ Nolan to prepare for the 2016 World U-21 Championships and Home Internationals.
