Rodney Goggins moved into the Qfinals of the IBSF Wold 6red Championship in Sharm El Shaikh Egypt today with a fine 4-3 Victory over a top class Polish opponent MichaĹ ZieliĹski in the last 16 this morning and he then beat current World U-21 Champion Hossein Vafaei Ayouri from Iran 4 frames to 3 in the last 16. Rodney will now player Indian Pro player Pankaj Advani in the Qfinal tomorrow.
Earlier in the knock out stages the draw threw up a all Irish battle with Greg Casey and Stephen Merrigan in the last 96 round but it was the Corkman in superb form with top breaks of 55 and 65 in a four frames to 1 victory over Stephen.
Dylan Rees was beaten 1 frame to 4 to Ng Yam Shui from Hong Kong this morning. Keith Sheldrick beat Ochirbold Begzsuren from Mongolia. Brendan Thomas almost pulled off a fantasic victory over top Indian player Brijesh Damani 4 frames to 3 but was beaten on the black ball in the final frame.
