Last weekend saw 38 players from all around the world compete over six competitions in the WDBS 2024 Irish Disability Snooker Open in the SBI HQ in Carlow. This event is the last World Disability Billiards & Snooker (WDBS) ranking event of the year.
Snooker & Billiards Ireland were delighted to see six champions crowned across six different classification groups in this three-day event for the 2024 Irish Disability Open.
Success for Ireland
There were home wins for Danny Kelly from Wicklow and Oscar Ellison Gibbons from Dublin when they played great snooker to win and defend their Irish Open titles.
Colvin O Brien from Carlow was beaten in his final but he climbs to No.1 on the WDBS rankings after his run to the final. Well done on all the Irish players below.
Future Disability Events
National Disability Coach Dylan Rees from Dungarvan was delighted with the 2024 event and is already planning a National Disability Championship in 2025, which will be before the 2025 WDBS Irish Open for all our Irish Disability players.
