Under 21 RIBSA Cue School (2)

The second RIBSA Under 21 Cue School will be held in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club in Carlow on the 19th of January. 20 players have qualified from the four region rankings. This is the second in a series of three events along with the National Championships that RIBSA will organise to qualify players for the 2013 World IBSF and European EBSA Under 21 Championships.

” All players must confirm they will attend by text to RIBSA on 085-1987379 by b b b by 3pm on Sunday 13th January or the next ranked player will be invited to the Cue School ”

The entry fee will be €5.00 for each Cue School event.

The Important Dates are the following

January 19th U-21 Q School 2 – Venue Carlow

March 9th U-21 Q School 3 – Venue Carlow

May 4th U-21 National Championships- Venue Carlow

The European Under 21 Championships will be held in March in Serbia and the cut off point will be the top 4 after two events representing RIBSA in the European Under 21’s.

The World Under 21 Championship will be held in July in Beijing China and the National Champion plus the next three on the rankings will qualify to players for the World Under 21 Championships.

The RIBSA Cue School events will be played in 4 Groups of 5 players with the best of 3 format played. Three players will qualify from the groups with the group winners seeded through to the Q-Finals. The second and third in groups will playoff for places for the Q-Finals

The best of 5 frames format will be played for all knock out rounds to find the winner.

The Groups will be decided on 1. Matches Won, 2. Frames Won, 3. Head to head . If two or more players are tied in the group a one frame play-off will decide the qualifiers.

The following players have been selected = 20 Cue School places – The Top 8 Seeds from the Cue School rankings will be seeded and the others will be in an open draw for the group stages.
