The third and final RIBSA Under 21 qualifying event was won by Aaron Tobin from Youghal CYMS after he beat Charlie Sweeney from Newbridge CYMS in a superb final 3 frames to 1. The event was held today the 28th of November in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club in Carlow.
Big upsets in the early rounds saw 10 year old potting sensation Oisin Bateman from the Kilkenny Shed beating Chris Hartnett from Youghal 3-2 and Jack Connolly from Maynooth beat Junior International player Ronan Whyte from Donegal 3-0.
In the semi-finals Aaron Tobin beat Jason O Hagan 3-1 while Charlie Sweeney beat Stephen Bateman 3-1 in two great matches.
The Tournament high breaks were 98, 76 and 57 by Charlie Sweeney, 79 by Aaron Tobin, 66 by Aaron Moyles and 45 & 46 by Stephen Bateman.

Poland 2016
After all the RIBSA / EBSA Junior Qualifying events RIBSA would like to congratulate Josh Boileau, Adam Fitzgerald, Aaron Tobin and Charlie Sweeney who will now represent the Republic Of Ireland in the 2016 European Under 21 Championships in Poland in February.
RIBSA would also like to congratulate Ross Bulman, Fergal Quinn, Noel Landers and Darragh Cusack who will represent the Republic Of Ireland in the 2016 European Under 18 Championships in Poland in February.
As National Coach I am delighted how the new format has worked as every qualifying event was very competitive and the entry numbers are very positive for the future. The new format is bringing the best of our players and we now have eight talented junior players travelling to Poland and I know they will prepare and play to their best abilities.
