Snooker & Billiards Ireland were delighted to attend the National Disability Show in the Curragh Racecourse, Co. Kildare, on the 7th of May 2026.
This event focused on empowerment, inclusion, and showcasing talents of people with disabilities and featured 30+ exhibitors, assistive technology, and speakers, aimed at families, carers, and professionals.

World Disability Champion Dylan Rees, Disability National Coach Shane Gorman and PJ Nolan SBI National Snooker Coach represented SBI at the event. This grass roots development is aimed to help develop the interest of our sport at all levels.

Minster of State
In attendance today was Emer Higgins, the Minister of State at the Department of Children, Disability and Equality. The minister with special responsibility for Disability was on hand for a photo with Dylan and Shane.

Mini Star Tables
Three miniature Star snooker tables used today provided more opportunities for SBI to introduce the game to players of all disabilities to play the game while helping promote our sport. All the players received a gold snooker medal today to remember their time in our cue zone.
National Championship this Weekend
SBI will hold their National Disability Snooker Championships in the SBI Academy of Excellence in Carlow on Saturday 9th May from 10am so if you are around Carlow, call in and watch Ireland’s best players in action.

Big Success
The Disability Show cue zone was a huge success. It was an honour for our team to meet Minister Emer Higgins. SBI would like to thank all the players, carers who attended our stand today for making it a very memorable day for SBI.
