Ronan McGuirk from R&R SC won the first Snooker & Billiards Ireland (SBI) 21’s Ranking event of the season on Saturday the 28th September in the SBI HQ Carlow. In the final Ronan beat James O Connell from Cork 3 frames to 1 in a great final that was refereed by Conor Doyle.
PJ Nolan’s 147academy will be the title sponsor for all the Junior Tours this season and it was a fantastic day of Junior snooker with all the stars playing great snooker and gaining National experience on the table.
In the semi finals, Ronan beat No.1 seed Noel Gleeson in a high quality match while James beat Adan Halnon 3-2 in another great match.
All eyes were on making a good start to the new season gaining ranking points which will help qualify them for major International events later in the year.
This was the first event on the 2024-2025 SBI 21’s Snooker Tour. SBI will be holding four 21’s ranking events plus a National 21’s Championships this season. All ranking events will be played on the same day as the 14’s so start time for all matches will 10.00am.
The Entry Fees for all Junior events is €10.00 each.

- Dark Shoes (no runners)
- Dark one coloured trousers (no jeans)
- One coloured shirt buttoned at the wrist
- Waistcoats must be worn for all matches in National Championships.
- National Waistcoats are not permissible
- Bowties are also required for the SBI Championships for all matches.
