The Republic of Ireland, Men’s, Master’s and Juniors saw off the challenge of Northern Ireland and France to defend their International Challenge Cup title in Youghal CYMS, in Co. Cork today.
The Team, Brendan Thomas, Brendan Cooney, Frank Sarsfield, Stephen Merrigan, Michael Judge, Bobert Murphy, Rodney Goggins, Greg Casey, Aaron Tobin, Christopher Cooney, Kenny Wight and Lee Walsh, deserve tremendous credit for their determined and consistent snooker to lift the trophy.
2013 is certainly well under way for Irish Snooker with a bang and now with the World Team and 6 Reds Championships beginning with the IBSF Opening ceremony tomorrow evening in the Dolmen Hotel in Carlow, this certainly will give the Republic of Ireland players a huge boost going into the IBSF Championships with such good performances on the Green Baize in Cork.
Well done to all involved in the Challenge Cup Tournament, such as Brendan Cooney, Eddie Ingle all the referee’s and those who contributed to such a successful competition.
