Q Club win 2014 All Ireland Club Championship

The Q Club Wicklow Snooker Club were crowned 2014 All Ireland Club Snooker Champions for the first time in the Glen Eagles Hotel in Killarney last night.

In the final they beat the defending Champions Celbridge Snooker Club who were looking for a 3 in a row of All Ireland titles but they came up against a superb Q Club to deny them.

In the final Wicklow started great with Current Irish Number 1 Robert Murphy beating Joe Delaney 3-0, next Wayne Doyle beat TJ Dowling 3-1.

Celbridge got back into the final with Martin McCrudden beating Michael Judge 3-1

In the two other remaining matches John Sutton was tied at 2-2 against Jason Watson but it was Keith Sheldrick who topped off a stunning championship performance in beating Nigel Power 3-1 to claim the prestigious title for the first time for the Wicklow Club.

Keith Sheldrick and Robert Murphy were both crowned 2014 players of the Championships with stunning performances throughout the event.

It is a great highlight for RIBSA snooker to see both RIBSA teams in the 2014 final as this competition is so competitive with teams from the North. A big well done to all the players and officials in Killarney in making it another success in what is described as the best ever Club Championship in the world.
