Irishman PJ Nolan an official world snooker coach was invited by World Snooker to coach in the cue zone at the on Saturday, Sunday and Monday 21st – 23rd at this year’s world championship in the Crucible in Sheffield.
The cue zone was held beside the BBC TV Studio with Hazel Irvine, Steve Davis, John Parrott, Ken Doherty and Willie Thorne on hand to cheer on the public clearing the routines in a really great atmosphere.
PJ coached players from 5 years old to 87 years throughout the three days on his own specific training routines. Some routines were against the stop watch with gold, silver, bronze medals and certificates awarded to each winning player.
There was a big Irish following at this year’s championship in Sheffield to support Ken Doherty and our players Davan Clarke from Westmeath and Team Killarney consisting on Connie O Sullivan, Derry O Sullivan and Sean MacGonagle were among the gold medals winners in the various routines.
PJ really enjoyed the experience and it was great meeting snooker fans from all around the world in the home of snooker. He thanked world snooker for inviting him to this year’s cue zone.
