On Tuesday 20th of February, Snooker & Billiards Ireland National Coach PJ Nolan had the pleasure to meet Paul Davis (NUI Maynooth Sports Development Officer), NUI Club President Cathal O Neill and the 2023 NUI Scholarship winner Adam Halnon in the Maynooth University complex in County Kildare.
During the meeting PJ confirmed SBI’s full commitment to continuing the Snooker Scholarship in partnership with Maynooth University. The Maynooth Sporting Scholarships are awarded for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. The Scholarship are based on the academic level plus a sporting qualifying criteria.
SBI and Maynooth University would be delighted if any talented SBI snooker member would be interested in applying for this fantastic scholarship opportunity.

PLEASE NOTE: The application for a Sports Scholarship at Maynooth University is now open – deadline to apply is April 1st 2024.
Last year Adam Halnon from Gorey won the scholarship and he recently played in the WSF Championships in Albania and next month he will next compete in the EBSA U-21 European Snooker Championships in Bosnia.
