Karl Fitzpatrick from Carlow won the 2012 National Under 21 Championship in Douglas Snooker Club in Cork today.
In the final he beat Ryan Cronin three frames to nil in a superb quality final in front of a large crowd in the club in Cork to win the National title and the Number 1 spot for 2012
All eyes were on the rankings as the Champion and the next two highest ranked players will qualify to represent the Republic Of Ireland in the World Under 21 Championships in China later this year.

The Highest Break was 78 by Ryan Cronin and Daniel Dempsey had a 63 break.

The Plate event was between two top junior internationals in Dylan Scully from Carlow and Daniel Dempsey from Newbridge.
Daniel Dempsey had breaks of 69, 53,51 and 46 to reach the final with wins over Evan O Leary and Aaron Moyles. Dylan reached the final with wins over Reece Roche and Paddy Brady.
In the final Daniel beat Dylan two frames to nil in a superb high quality match.
Karl Busteed from Douglas Snooker Club presented the prizes to both players after the final.
