Ireland’s Robert Murphy & Michael Judge were denied reaching the final of IBSF World Men’s Team Championships in the Ivy Rooms Carlow tonight when they were beaten 3 frames to 2 by Pakistan in one of the most an exciting matches so far in the event.
First in was Judge with a solid frame to led 1-0, Robert was beaten on the pink in the second but the team fought back superbly to win the Doubles to led 2-1 but back fought the Pakistan team who included the current World Amateur Champion to win the final two frames to stop our Irish team reaching the final.
The team were superb from the first frame to their last in this Championship. They could not have done more and everyone that was in the Ivy Rooms tonight witnessed an outstanding match. As National Coach I was so proud of them both and reaching the semi final is a fantastic performance and the whole of Ireland were supporting them and Well done boys !!!!
The finals are being played at 11.30am and 3.30pm and it promises to be an outstanding day of snooker tomorrow so if you are around Carlow you must come in to watch the finals.
