The Republic of Ireland Billiards & Snooker Association (RIBSA) have just announced they will hold a junior snooker development day on the 5th of November in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club in Carlow.
JOSH BOILEAU IN ATTENDANCE
Ireland’s youngest Professional player Josh Boileau will be in attendance to show his skills to all the players and give advice to all the juniors on the day.
Any junior player in Ireland are invited to attend the day with our Irish National Coach PJ Nolan and his team of RIBSA Coaches to learn some skills of the game. The players will learn about the Stance, Grip, Cue Action, Cue Ball Control and Potting Skills.
RIBSA will provide Cues, Chalk, Balls and Tables. International Referee Ger Murray will also be in attendance to give the players a seminar on the rules of the game while RIBSA Chairman Jim Leacy will be there to give a talk about the RIBSA Organisation.
Schedule of events
10.30am – 11am the players will sign in. The day will begin with the players playing some snooker with PJ and the RIBSA coaches giving some tips and advice to the players. The players will then be shown how to control the cue ball and then try some practice routines.
A re-spotted black tournament will also be held. The action will begin at 11am and finish at 4pm.
RIBSA would like to ask all the clubs to encourage as many of their young members to attend this promotion day and help grow the game in Ireland.
The cost to each player will be €5.00 and each player will receive a certificate of attendance.
