The second (SBI) Snooker & Billiards Ireland 18’s ranking tournament of the season was held on Saturday the 23rd November in the SBI HQ Carlow. The final was a repeat of Event 1 when Jamie McCarthy from Crucible SC Cork and Lorcain O Curraoin from Galway reached the final again after a long day of Junior Snooker.
A minute Silence was held for Ger Murray who sadly passed away this week. Ger was a big fan of Junior Snooker and will always be remembered by everyone.
16 players from all accoss the country entered the event and the TD on the day was our National Coach PJ Nolan. The standard of good match-play snooker and potting was great on the day. The high break went to Jack O Brien from Limerick with a 51.
PJ Nolan’s 147academy is the title sponsor for all the Junior Tours this season and it was a fantastic day of Junior snooker with all the stars playing great snooker and gaining National experience on the table. Live Streaming was again available for this event so the players can now watch back and learn.

All eyes were on gaining ranking points to help them qualify for 2025 EBSA Championships. This was the second event on the 2024-2025 SBI 18’s Snooker Tour. SBI will be holding four 18’s ranking events plus a National 18’s Championships this season. The Entry Fees for all U-18 events is €10.00 each.
