On Sunday the 14th of May, The Republic Of Ireland Billiards & Snooker Association held another Coaching Ireland Intro level course in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club.
Michelle Sherwin from Dublin, Cathal Harling from Dublin, Keith Sheldreck from Dublin, Jason Dowling and Thomas Enright from Rathkeale in Co. Limerick and Adrian McMahon from Mountrath attended the coaching course and were guided in how to plan a training session, how to monitor players techniques plus how to design training routines.
Our National Coach PJ Nolan gave the seminar covering the approved syllabus approved by Coaching Ireland who govern all coaching in Ireland through Sport Ireland. RIBSA have now have 82 coaches whom have attended a course and have official Intro level certification.
The coaches now go away to attend a 4hr basic awareness course in their local area and have Garda Vetting done before being presented with their Coaching Certificate later in the year.
New RIBSA Ladies National Coach and current National Ladies Snooker Champion Michelle Sherwin said ” she picked up great tips to help her coaching and The CD with all the course information will be a great resource to help us all in the future ”
If you would like to attend the next course you must download the application form from the web site and post it to RIBSA. As soon as RIBSA have six completed forms we will apply to Coaching Ireland for approval and a date to hold the next course.
