Last week Snooker & Billiards Ireland held two International Snooker Training Camps with our National Coach PJ Nolan in the SBI HQ in Carlow on Thursday and Friday the 26th & 27th of October to prepare our National players for the 2023 World IBSF Snooker Championships which will be held in Qatar.
Training Camps
SBI National Coach held sessions on Break-Building, Safety, Long Potting and Technique checks. All the players will received a training program booklet with practice drills plus a sports phycology booklet to help them work on their mind fitness.
The players practiced on the Star & Rasson Match Tables from 11am-4pm on each day of the Camp and the final SBI training day will be held on Saturday 4th November from 11am-4pm in the SBI HQ Carlow for the players. International players Stephen Bateman and Shane Gormn were on hand for practice matches for the players.
Training Aids
The latest training aids will be used in the camp to enhance the sessions like the Mini Domin Eye, Master Doctor, Str8aim SA-1 & SA-2, Chris Henry Balls, Academy laser, EBSA Coaching Balls to help to get them on the line of aim and develop a smoother stroke in their delivery.

Ireland have a very strong line up of players playing this year and SBI would like to wish the players and Officials good luck in this Championships in Qatar.

2023 IBSF World Championships
The 2023 IBSF World Snooker (Men, Women & Masters) and English Billiards Championships will be held in Doha, Qatar during the period from the 5th until the 24th of November.
The IBSF World Championships that will be organized are as follows:
- The World Men Snooker Championship, 6 Reds Championship and Teams Snooker Championship.
- The World Women Snooker Championship and 6 Reds Championship.
- The World Masters Snooker Championship and Teams Snooker Championship.
- The World Men English Billiards Long-Up Championship, and the 150-Up Championship.
