On Sunday 12th of November, SBI held the second Senior (Over 40’s) event of the season in SBI HQ in Carlow where we had 27 entries in this event. After a long day we got it down to the final where Rodney Goggins from Wexford has made it to the final once again where he will face Tommy O Donoghue from Limerick who had an outstanding run in this event.
This final was played in Dungarvan SC on Thursday 30th November and it was Wexford’s Rodney Goggins who won the title in style beating Tommy O Donoghue 3 frames to nil to take another title. SBI would like to thank Dylan Rees and Dungarvan SC for hosting the final and to John Downey for refereeing the final.
Professional photographer Sean Byrne was present to take photos for SBI, the club and local media. A copy of which will be sent to each player when it is released.
All in all, a very successful night and experiment by SBI. The club got to see two top players and enjoy a bit of national and regional exposure.
DSC have stated that they would like to hold more events of this kind in the future with full streaming capabilities available in the new year (snooker on). They would also like to thank SBI for their continued support.
